LIFE: EXPLORING GREENWICH

October 27, 2013

I popped south of the river yesterday for some fresh air, to stretch my legs and graze on market food. Greenwich is that perfect weekend spot and though I've been before, I've not really spent too long exploring. With camera in hand, off we went. First stop? The Old Royal Naval College. I thought it was kind of appropriate I was wearing my naval-inspired Zara coat (yes, Anna, I caved and bought it too!)

This is the Painted Hall. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and took nineteen years to finish. It's pretty spectacular and free to visit so have a look if you're nearby. It's actually the bit behind me in this photo that is most impressive as well as the ceiling.

Ready to work up an appetite, we headed through Greenwich Park up to the observatory and the exact location where east meets west (this is, of course, where we get 'Greenwich Mean Time')

One foot on east, one foot on west!

Ready for some well-deserved food, we headed back down the hill and into the market.

  12. Greenwich is definitely my favourite place in London. Still fairly central but that little bit further out, so it's not massively busy. And you can get the DLR there and pretend to be a train driver!
