We went to the Italian room which was just wonderful. It has a really authentic Tuscan vibe, not like your classic Italian restaurant and the food was superb. I've spent quite a lot of time in Tuscany and the food and setting wasn't at all false, it was relaxed and just spot on.
I started with a glass of champagne and the bread. I can resist bread usually but if there is an amazing accompaniment then it's game over. In Morton's last week they had the most beautiful chilli butter which was my downfall and at Novikov it was a wonderful tomato salsa type affair.
And for my meal? I just went for a main course after all that bread and, of course, I fancied more carbs. Naughty, naughty. This was the trofi pasta served with wild rabbit ragout in Chianti white wine sauce. It was absolutely delicious and I'd order it again, for definite.
Full of carbs we went on our way to a couple of LFW parties, I wish we could have stayed long enough to try out some of the desserts!
