FASHION: ZARA WEDGE HIGH TOP SNEAKER

February 17, 2013

Controversial they certainly are. I have friends who have told me I'm ridiculous for buying a pair of wedge trainers. I know Marant did them years ago but they've finally filtered down into every high street store going.

The Zara Wedge High Top Sneakers in black are my new favourite wardrobe item, without a shadow of a doubt. I have to physically force myself to pick up a different pair of shoes some mornings just so I've not worn the same pair all week. When you live in London, there's a lot of walking to be done and these have quite a heel hidden in there.. but they're still insanely comfortable.

I really struggled to find a pair of wedge trainers that weren't a hideous colour or with loads of studs on or with not quite a high enough heel. Aldo, for example, has about ten different variations and none of them were quite right.

I can't recommend Zara's version enough. They're narrow on the foot so you still feel feminine and the all-black look means they're very easy to pair with any outfit.

What are your thoughts on wedge trainers? Love them? Hate them?!

  1. I have been so on the fence, yet so ridiculously tempted by a pair of these wedge trainer thingies. I nearly bought the River Island ones last year, but then chickened out.

I think I do really love them, I'm just not sure what I would wear them with. Definitely do some outfit posts wearing these if you have the time :)

  6. I hated wedge trainers for so long but as with most trends I've gradually become less horrified by them and I think I'm just about at the point where I'm considering picking up a pair. These look like a good option - I don't want to get laughed down the street for having boat feet x Becky

  8. I'm so tempted to get a pair as I love high tops but It just puts me off that I can't dance properly in them, these are a really lovely version though, More subtle and classic (kindof) than alot of the pairs out there.
