BEAUTY: OPI LIQUID SAND IN STAY THE NIGHT

February 14, 2013

OPI Liquid Sand Stay The Night

I've taken a short break from Shellac-ing to indulge in something new from OPI. This is OPI Liquid Sand in Stay The Night from the Mariah Carey collection*. The finish is the OPI take on the 'textured' trend and exactly the same in terms of finish as the Nails Inc. concrete polishes. I'm still not sold on textured nail varnish - longevity tends to be amazing but I'm a sucker for super-smooth & glossy nails.

However, if this varnish wasn't textured, I think I'd absolutely adore it as the colour is amazing. Black base with pinky/purpley/reddy glitter. At first glance nails look black which is a look I really like, but upon closer inspection you can see the pretty glitter.

Not for me but if you love a textured nail varnish then definitely check out the OPI Liquid Sands.

How do you feel about textured nails?

  1. I just can't get my head around textured polishes. I think the fact that when I was growing up I used to play with my mums nail supplies and my absolute favourite thing was the buffer. I guess the concept of super smooth talons has just been ingrained into me from an early age x Becky

  4. I got the mini set a while ago but this one was so sheer, I did about 4 coats on my nail wheel and it still wasn't opaque, so sad, I love the colour :(

  6. I'm not really loving the textured polishes, I actually thought this was a glitter at first glance! I do absolutely love the colour though.

The pastel textured polishes almost won me over a little bit, but still not enough to splash my hard earned cash.
