REVIEW: LAURA MERCIER TINTED MOISTURISER

March 17, 2012

When I took a day off work to go to Marni at H&M, I then popped into Harvey Nichols and made a somewhat naughty purchase. I've had my eye on this tinted moisturiser for years. Years. Yet I've never indulged. However, I'd been using more 'dewy' foundations and then worked into tinted moisturisers/BB creams... from Revlon Photoready to Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser to Garnier BB Cream. Why? My skin had been too dry and I felt I needed to inject moisture and then take it easy on my skin for a while.

I was actually enjoying the Garnier BB cream, but decided I had to buy the Laura Mercier as everyone raves about it. They now do an oil free option but I need all the moisture I can get so I plumped for the original in the colour Nude as matched by the girl on the counter. I have to say, the girl on the counter was a little pushy and it's for this reason I don't like beauty halls.

So, is it worth the £33? I have to say, I'm really liking it. The first time I popped it on I was a little underwhelmed as I was expecting holy grail, oh my god it's amazing and instead I got, nice even coverage and a slightly dewy finish. However, I find it wears so nicely on my skin. By the end of the day I've still got a little left on my skin but it just wears so evenly and so gradually that I don't find myself suddenly looking like I need to top my face up. The finish is lovely and natural and the colour is spot on for me.

I'm not sure if I'll repurchase because I've only ever repurchased one foundation (bareMinerals Original) - I'm too fickle to commit to reinvesting, but that certainly doesn't mean I don't love it and wouldn't thoroughly recommend giving it a try. Just give it a bit of time before you make cast judgement.

  1. I have been tempted by this but I was going to opt for the oil free, although this review is helpful. I know what you mean about beauty halls they pounce on you the moment you set foot near the products which is a little annoying as I feel like they are watching and 9/10 this puts me off purchasing. I wonder if they realise this? x

  2. I was recommended this product when I was suffering with eczema a few years and it is truely a lovely product. So much so that I still use it now even though the eczema's cleared up!
